Government |
Azania has been known by her present borders for nearly two centuries now. We also occupy and administer Angola by invitation of her people, providing order in this once-turbulent nation. The nations of Zimbabwe and Botswana share much of our infrastructure and use many Azanian facilities and systems to meet their needs, although they remain sovereign nations under our protection. The world community has referred to this area as the Azanian Protectorate for just over a century. The previous flag, dating to 2034, used similar colors arrayed in slanting arcs and displayed in its center the pine cone from which our country takes its name (due to the pine-cone-like shape of the southern part of Africa). The new flag was adopted to reflect the changing role of Azania in international relations, peacekeeping, and colonization. The blue band at the top of thye flag symbolizes the sky overhead; the green band at the bottom is Earth below us. In the middle of the flag is a band of gold for the bounty of Azania's croplands; this band of gold is framed on each side by orange bands representing the beautiful sunlit hills which bound our croplands and overlook our cities. Finally, the black-and-white shield and weapons in the center of the flag symbolize tradition, racial harmony, and protection, for this is what we humbly provide to ourselves and our neighbors in Africa.
