Players or referees wishing to represent characters, institutions, and adventures involving Azania or Azanian citizens have heretofore been at a loss for detailed resources in the 2300AD role-playing game and its sister publication Star Cruiser. This is understandable since few players could reasonably have been imagined at the time of publication who were interested in concentrating on Azania and her satellites. We do exist, however, and this site is provided as guidelines to Azania and Azanian characters. If you are looking for general info and articles relating to 2300AD, we recommend starting with Pentapod's World and One Man's View of 2300AD, as both provide valuable resources for the 2300AD roleplaying game. More links can be found in this site's links page. This site, of course, represents the work of only a few people, and therefore is not representative of everyone's conception of Azania in 2300AD. You may wish to use only part, or none, of the resources listed here. But even as a source for what you don't want to do with Azania in your own 2300AD campaign, hopefully you will find this site a valuable resource. As detailed below, this site is divided into various sections dealing with Azania and Azanian characters in the 2300AD role-playing game. Most aspects of the Azanian nation are covered in the National section of this site, but here in the RPG section you will find clarifications, game effects, and other features of Azania which cannot be easily covered in the National section, as that section of the site is designed to resemble a fictional website for Azania, and discussions of Azania's Intelligence Services and national shortcomings would not be appropriate to that forum. Finally, please feel free to e-mail me with any suggestions, comments, queries, etc. you may have, and I shall make an effort to help you out. If you have any articles to contribute, please do so. Every so often a new Featured Article will appear on the Azania in 2300AD website. Sometimes this feature is an item from the National section of the website, sometimes from the RPG section. Sometimes it will even be an external link to a particularly useful article on another 2300AD website or to a particularly interesting article on another topic such as the real South Africa or space travel. Check back occasionally for the scoop! The current feature is Ben Aaronovitch's excellent Venda-class Colonial Frigate, a fast frigate based on the highly-successful Azanian Faidi-class courier. Force-projection with style is the name of the game. Careers - Information on Azanian careers for Azanian characters. Included are also guidelines intended to help players and referees specialize careers for Azanian characters.
